The movie picks up where the fourth installment left off, with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) being busted out of a prison transport bus by his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and friend Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). The trio soon finds themselves in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they plan to pull off a massive heist. However, things get complicated when they discover that the heist is actually a setup by a notorious drug lord, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida).
