The film picks up where the fifth installment, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," left off. Harry returns to Hogwarts, still reeling from the death of his godfather, Sirius Black. As the new school year begins, Harry becomes increasingly obsessed with an old potions textbook that contains notes and secrets from a mysterious former student known as the Half-Blood Prince.
