Idiocracy is set in a future where the most popular TV show is a reality program called "Ow! My Balls!", and people are more interested in watching a giant fight between two people than engaging in intellectual discussions. The film's protagonist, Joe Bauers (played by Luke Wilson), is a regular guy who wakes up from hibernation to find that the world has become a ridiculous and illogical place. The movie is a commentary on the current state of society, where people are more concerned with their immediate gratification than with the well-being of the planet.
