"Sri Damodara Janani," also known as "Damodara Astakam" or "Damodara Shataka," is a Sanskrit text attributed to Sri Jayadeva Gosvami, a prominent figure in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. The text is a powerful expression of devotion (bhakti) and consists of 108 verses (or 106 verses in some versions) that praise Lord Damodara, a form of Lord Krishna. The name "Damodara" literally means "one who can be controlled or subdued by a rope (damo) in His childhood," referring to Krishna's famous pastime where He was bound with a rope by His mother, Yashoda.
